All Problems Are Parenting Problems
I had one of those "aha" moments this morning. While getting coached by Jen Tate (yes, coaches get coached too!) she dropped this wisdom:
"All problems are parenting problems."
Let that sink in for a moment.
Here's what she meant: Whether it's work stress, co-parenting challenges, or processing big emotions – everything spills over into how we show up as parents. But here's the beautiful flip side:
Every skill you build in any area of your life becomes a powerful tool in your parenting tool kit. Think about it:
That creative solution you found for your work project? It's shaping how you approach your kid's latest challenge.
The deep breath and dance break 🪩 you take after your ex's 7th text of the day? That's teaching you (and your kids) emotional regulation in real-time.
And when you let yourself fully feel those big emotions – the heart-wrenching grief, the overwhelming sadness, the raw disappointment – and discover you can handle them? You're becoming the safe harbor your children need for their own BIG FEELS.
Speaking of challenges we can tackle together: If the divorce process has you feeling overwhelmed (and honestly, why shouldn’t it be overwhelming at first, you’ve never been through it before), I'd love to help.
